I have just launched a Dundee Half Marathon and Full Marathon page on the site. That took place on the 20th of July 2014. It features Videos, Tweets and Instagram photos. Go take a look now!! Click here to see the Dundee Marathon and Half Marathon page! If you have met me and we have spoke about this site before, you'll know it was built on the basis that I had terrible anxiety about running and wanted to help others overcome it, like I'm am doing. With a headline like... "To the fatty running on the Westview track" This article really stood out to me and put me in an instant foul mood but there is a shock ending. Click on the photo to see the article... I had the pleasure of spending my weekend with some great folk who had some fantastic tattoos. It got me thinking about running tattoos... So i went looking for some. Turns out RunnersWorld.com already had an online article about this. Here's my favourite... It was the first one I had been to and I have to say it was fantastic, I have just uploaded all the photos I took at the event. Please click on the image below to see them all. Is it a good idea? I'd have to say no, is it really worth risking months of not running if you slip or fall and hurt yourself. With a day pass as low as £5.99 at Pure Gym in Dundee and other gyms and classes modestly priced across Dundee. It would be a good time to take advantage of all their offers. Oh and here's what inspired this post... This is for anyone who has ever ran long distance, I'm sure you can relate to this. For anyone considering long distance, please train for it or this could be you.
I watched this before my first Half Marathon and didn't train... This was pretty much the state i was in hahaha.. courtesy of Barney Stinson from How I met Your Mother. I am often asked what's the best way to start running for beginners. So I've posted a few things to help you get started or to get back into running. The first is fairly basic but can be printed off or saved so you can see it whenever. It's really easy to follow and should work great for most people although you'll likely advance quicker than the weeks suggest. There is also a more detailed plan from the NHS called Couch to 5K the involves loads of added extras too. The highly recommended My Asics lets you decide how far your goal is, then it will come up with a training plan just for you that is printable. It can also be joint up with a free App that includes gps to track your runs. This was recommend to me for my first half marathon and i know of others than use it and love it. Here is a brief review of it from Gizmodo (<-Click to see review) If you like to be more social and run with other folk then Sweatshop have a beginners group that depart from David Lloyd Gym in Monifieth every Sunday morning at 10.30am. If your felling a bit more adventurous they do 2 other runs that feature 3K/5K/8K on Tuesday night at 7pm and Wednesday night at 6:30pm

One of my friends shared this with me and I just had to share it with you fine fellow Dundee Runners. It's really funny from start to finish. Since there is never much funny things associated with running, take the time to rejoice in this hilarious comic. (CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO SEE THE REST OF THE COMIC)
